What Are the Auspicious Dates of 2027?
Auspicious dates (吉日, jí rì) are the days a traditional Chinese almanac marks as favourable for an important task such as a wedding, a signing, a house move or an opening. The 2027 auspicious dates in this guide are the 48 days of 2027 that are both a Yellow Path day and a Settle, Accomplish or Open day, and the full list is in the table below.
The list is a first screen, not a verdict. A day that suits the calendar still has to suit you, so check it against your own chart: find your Day Master and birth-year animal with the free Bazi calculator, then drop any day that clashes with the animal using the clash table further down. The Bazi year 2027 is the Ding Wei (丁未) Fire Goat year and starts at Li Chun on 4 February 2027; for the year as a whole, read the 2027 Fire Goat year guide.
How Does the Almanac Choose a Good Day?
The almanac reads every day through two lenses that need nothing but the calendar. The first is the day officer, the second is the day god.
A day officer (建除十二神, jiàn chú shí èr shén) is one of twelve names that cycle through the days: Establish, Remove, Full, Balance, Settle, Hold, Break, Danger, Accomplish, Receive, Open and Close. The cycle starts on the first day whose Earthly Branch matches the month branch, and it repeats once, on the day a solar term begins, which is why two neighbouring days can share an officer. The counts below are for 2027.
| Day officer | Days in 2027 | Traditional almanac use |
|---|---|---|
| Establish (建, jiàn) | 30 | a day for beginnings; ground-breaking is avoided |
| Remove (除, chú) | 29 | clearing out, cleansing, seeing a doctor |
| Full (滿, mǎn) | 29 | gatherings, celebrations, collecting what is owed |
| Balance (平, píng) | 30 | ordinary errands and repairs |
| Settle (定, dìng) | 32 | engagements, signing agreements, ceremonies |
| Hold (執, zhí) | 32 | setting things up and fixing them in place |
| Break (破, pò) | 30 | demolition; avoided for almost everything else |
| Danger (危, wēi) | 31 | a day for caution; risky ventures are avoided |
| Accomplish (成, chéng) | 31 | weddings, openings, moving in, completing a deal |
| Receive (收, shōu) | 29 | collecting, storing, bringing things in |
| Open (開, kāi) | 32 | opening a business, starting a journey, moving house |
| Close (閉, bì) | 30 | closing accounts and storing; avoided for openings and weddings |
A Yellow Path day (黃道日, huáng dào rì) is a day ruled by one of the six favourable day gods. Twelve day gods cycle through the days as well, six yellow and six black, and the almanac prefers a yellow one.
| Day god | Path |
|---|---|
| Azure Dragon (青龍, qīng lóng) | Yellow |
| Bright Hall (明堂, míng táng) | Yellow |
| Heavenly Punishment (天刑, tiān xíng) | Black |
| Vermilion Bird (朱雀, zhū què) | Black |
| Golden Coffer (金匱, jīn guì) | Yellow |
| Heavenly Virtue (天德, tiān dé) | Yellow |
| White Tiger (白虎, bái hǔ) | Black |
| Jade Hall (玉堂, yù táng) | Yellow |
| Heavenly Prison (天牢, tiān láo) | Black |
| Black Tortoise (玄武, xuán wǔ) | Black |
| Life Controller (司命, sī mìng) | Yellow |
| Gou Chen (勾陳, gōu chén) | Black |
The gods always run in the order shown. Where the run starts depends on the month: the Azure Dragon rules the Zi (子) day in Yin and Shen months, the Yin (寅) day in Mao and You months, the Chen (辰) day in Chen and Xu months, the Wu (午) day in Si and Hai months, the Shen (申) day in Zi and Wu months, and the Xu (戌) day in Chou and Wei months.
Both lenses read the month from the solar terms, not from the Gregorian month. The almanac month changes on the calendar date of each jie (節, jié) solar term, so a date's month is read from its date, not from the hour of the term. The table gives the start dates and how many of the 48 days fall in each month. If solar terms are new to you, the month pillar and jieqi rule explains why Bazi months follow them.
| Almanac month | Starts at the jie | Starts on | Qualifying days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 子 Zi | Da Xue (大雪) | 7 Dec 2026 | 0 |
| 丑 Chou | Xiao Han (小寒) | 5 Jan | 5 |
| 寅 Yin | Li Chun (立春) | 4 Feb | 4 |
| 卯 Mao | Jing Zhe (驚蟄) | 6 Mar | 2 |
| 辰 Chen | Qing Ming (清明) | 5 Apr | 6 |
| 巳 Si | Li Xia (立夏) | 6 May | 3 |
| 午 Wu | Mang Zhong (芒種) | 6 Jun | 0 |
| 未 Wei | Xiao Shu (小暑) | 7 Jul | 9 |
| 申 Shen | Li Qiu (立秋) | 8 Aug | 5 |
| 酉 You | Bai Lu (白露) | 8 Sep | 3 |
| 戌 Xu | Han Lu (寒露) | 8 Oct | 5 |
| 亥 Hai | Li Dong (立冬) | 7 Nov | 3 |
| 子 Zi | Da Xue (大雪) | 7 Dec | 3 |
Which Days in 2027 Are Both Yellow Path and a Settle, Accomplish or Open Day?

The Mang Zhong month, from 6 June to 6 July, has no qualifying day. In a Wu (午) month the Settle, Accomplish and Open days fall on Xu, Yin and Chen days, and those are the Heavenly Punishment, White Tiger and Heavenly Prison days, all black. Almanac editions can differ on the days when a solar term begins, so confirm any short-listed date in the almanac you trust before you fix it.
How Do You Pick an Auspicious Day for a Wedding in 2027?
Picking an auspicious day for a wedding in 2027 takes four steps, and the table above only does the first.
- Start from the 48 days and keep the ones in a month that works for both families.
- Drop every day whose Earthly Branch clashes with either partner's birth-year animal. The day pillar names the branch: Ding Hai (丁亥) is a Hai (亥, Pig) day, and it clashes with the Snake.
- Compare the day pillar with each partner's chart. The day's element should not strain a Day Master that is already weak or overloaded.
- Take the short list to a calendar-aware tool or a qualified practitioner and fix the date last, after venue and guests.
The clash step uses six fixed pairs, shown here with the animal each day branch opposes.
| Day branch | Day animal | Clashes with birth animal |
|---|---|---|
| Zi (子) | Rat | Horse |
| Chou (丑) | Ox | Goat |
| Yin (寅) | Tiger | Monkey |
| Mao (卯) | Rabbit | Rooster |
| Chen (辰) | Dragon | Dog |
| Si (巳) | Snake | Pig |
| Wu (午) | Horse | Rat |
| Wei (未) | Goat | Ox |
| Shen (申) | Monkey | Tiger |
| You (酉) | Rooster | Rabbit |
| Xu (戌) | Dog | Dragon |
| Hai (亥) | Pig | Snake |
One year-level fact sits behind all of this. In 2027 the Goat (Wei, 未) holds the Tai Sui (太歲, tài suì) seat, the year's ruling branch. The Ox clashes with it, the Ox, Dog and Goat form a punishment group, and the Rat is in a harm relationship with it; the year guides for the Ox, the Dog and the Rat go into each. Traditions differ on whether a Tai Sui clash forbids a wedding, and this guide does not say it does. For the general method behind date picking, see how to choose auspicious dates with Bazi.
What Does the Tong Shu Add Beyond Day Officers and Day Gods?
The Tong Shu (通勝, tōng shèng) is the full traditional almanac, called the Nongmin Li (農民曆) in Taiwan and the Huang Li (黃曆) elsewhere. Its daily entry carries the day officer and day god used here, and it also lists the twenty-eight lunar mansions, the animal each day clashes with and directions to avoid. This guide uses only the first two and the clash rule, so treat the 48 days as a short list to check, not as the almanac's full verdict. The 2027 Bazi calendar walks through reading a date in the almanac.
How Does Bazi Fortune Score Auspicious Dates for Your Own Chart?
Bazi Fortune is an Android app on Google Play; there is no iPhone version yet. Its auspicious dates feature scores every date against your own chart rather than a general almanac, across 24 purposes in seven groups, such as a wedding, signing a contract, moving house or opening a business. It ranks the days for the purpose you pick, explains its reasons and lists what each day is good for and what to avoid. Today and the two days before it are free on Android; future dates, Best Dates This Month and Recommended for You are Premium, and Premium is bought only in the Android app through Google Play. Use the table above for the calendar screen and the app for the personal one.
